Vayu Yoga® Training Descriptions
Vayu Yoga® provides specialized, small group instruction (private, duet, or groups of 3-8 students), enhancing your practice through individual attention, and focusing on your safety and overall well-being. This is not your ordinary yoga class, our group trainings provide personalized attention in many unique offerings.
Vayu Yoga® Suspended is our signature yoga practice that incorporates an aerial fabric hammock to enhance a floor-based yoga practice, adding the elements of suspension and decompression. Vayu Yoga® Suspended includes: Gentle Suspended, Introduction to Vayu Yoga® Suspended,Vayu Yoga® Suspended (mixed level), and Suspended Flow I/II (intermediate), and Vayu Yoga® Restorative.
VY® Wall Yoga
VY® Wall Yoga postures foster a new awareness to a regular yoga mat practice. The YogaWall provides support to aide in balance and stability, and potential to discover new limits to yoga pose alignment through the use of traction. Wall Yoga for the Back is a training that focuses primarily on strengthening and lengthening the necessary muscles for back pain relief. This training is good for both novice and advanced students, including those working with injuries and limitations.
VY® VayuPur (Aerial + Wall)
VayuPur is another signature class of Vayu Yoga®, it is a yoga practice that includes a combination of aerial yoga and the Yogawall. VayuPur techniques enhance a floor-based yoga practice by combining the elements of suspension and traction for an enhanced understanding of each student's potential through improved alignment. Mixed level training.
VY® Partner Yoga
Partner Yoga is a cooperative yoga practice that fosters mutual trust and builds strength through a unique practice working together with 1-2 other people. Students should be able to hold downward-facing dog or plank. This is an intermediate level practice.
VY® Wall Pilates
VY® Wall Pilates fosters a new awareness to a Pilates mat practice. The YogaWall provides support to aide in balance and stability, and it the resistance bands add many possibilities for strength training. This practice is unique to Vayu Yoga®, you will not find this practice elsewhere. This training is good for both novice and advanced students, including those working with injuries and limitations.
A Pilates® practice that incorporates exercises performed on the reformer, which uses resistance-loaded springs. The Pilates Method® is based on the concept of adaptation (continual process of changing physically, mentally, spiritually, emotionally, to adjust to a continually changing environment). The reformer provides a platform for the practitioner to implement adaptation throughout the entire session. This practice is good for all levels, including those working with injuries and limitations.
A general yoga practice that provides a foundational knowledge of yoga poses for the beginner or advanced yogi. This training incorporates a variety of yoga styles to provide a solid foundation for any yoga practitioner. This is a mixed level practice, open to all levels.
A popular yoga practice that incorporates a blend of various styles of yoga including Vinyasa flow, Hatha, Restorative, and Therapeutics. This is a mixed level practice, open to all levels.
VY® Flow with Intention
We will explore how to elevate our flow with mindful intention by infusing subtle body principles - such as basic meditations, chakra and Ayurveda themes, Pranayama and PranaVayu (movement of breath and energy) techniques. Mixed level practice.
Introduction To Yoga Workshops
Learn the foundational elements needed to take a regular yoga training. This Intro Workshop is intended for students who are new to yoga, or for those with some experience, who want to review the foundations of a yoga practice. The series will introduce the fundamentals of alignment, breathing and mindfulness in foundational yoga postures and will lay the basic groundwork for students to be able to take other yoga trainings. Gentle Yoga is a class designed for people seeking access to traditional yoga postures regardless of their physical restrictions or level. Moving at a gentle pace allows students to explore and grow at their own pace.
This practice incorporates a blend of various release techniques including the use of tennis balls, therapeutic balls, and foam rollers. The release of myofascial muscular tension facilitates ease of movement and greater range of motion.
VY® Relax & Restore
Relax and Restore is a unique blend of restorative postures, breath work and gentle yoga. Utilizing yoga props, the Yoga Wall and the “Relaxation Response” technique, this practice aims to open the body and restore the nervous system. This class is the perfect addition to a busy lifestyle or a strenuous workout routine. Open to all levels.
VY® Therapeutic Pilates
A therapeutic practice focused towards teaching modifications for specific injuries and conditions. Exercises will be focused on strengthening the core, improving alignment, and flexibility. This practice is good for all levels, including those working with injuries and limitations.
VY® Guided Meditation
Various meditation techniques are used to guide students through breathing and centering exercises. Open to all levels. No experience is necessary.
